Clean Energy
Currently 5% of Lakefront Brewery's power, which is purchased from WE Energies, is derived from wind power
Wind Power is energy that comes from moving air currents converted into electrical energy. Wind is a clean fuel source
and does not pollute the air. Wind turbines are built on farms or ranches wherever the best wind sites are found
Wind energy relies on the renewable power of the wind, which can't be used up. The amount of energy that is produced depends
on wind speed, the length of the blades, and the height of the turbine tower. Wind energy is one of the lowest priced renewable energy sources. The cost is about 4 to 6 cents per kilowatt-hour.
Reclaimed Heat Energy
As hot wort leaves mash-tun, it is rapidly cooled by cold water in a heat exchanger. The heat energy from the wort is transferred
to the cold water and the heated water is used to brew the next batch of beer
Green Facility
Recycling containers are made available for employees & customers. Dumpsters for glass, cardboard, and
plastic are located outside along the brewery.
Flourescent Light Bulbs
95% of existing Lakefront Brewery light bulbs and/or incandescent lightinghave been replaced with compact fluorescents.
