Swedish New Year

December 31, 2024
3:00 pm - 7:00 pm
Lakefront Brewery Beer Hall

In the late 1800s, Wisconsin saw a big influx of Swedes to the state. The Homestead Act of 1862 allowed for much more freedom in farming public land and Sweden was dealing with crop difficulties around that same time. In 1841, the first Swedish community in Wisconsin was established at Pine Lake, just outside of Waukesha near Hartland.

We’re celebrating Wisconsin’s Swedish heritage here at Lakefront Brewery by hosting the only public Swedish New Year event in the Greater Milwaukee area, dare we say Wisconsin? Expect proper decor, both modern and traditional Swedish music hits, and plenty of dancing. Sweden will ring in the New Year at 5PM Central Time (CT) and we will be providing a live Swedish television feed of the countdown right here in the Beer Hall.

The event will occur from 3PM to 7PM on New Year’s Eve. Tickets cost $35 and include a champagne toast, your first drink (beer, wine, cocktail, soda) on us, as well as a buffet of Swedish-inspired cuisine carefully curated by our Executive Chef, Kristin Hueneke.

Don’t miss your chance to join the local Swedish community in celebrating Midnight at 5PM! We will remain open to the public but tickets are required to gain access to the event. Must be 21+ unless accompanied by a parent.

Menu Includes: A Selection of Cheeses, Meats, and Sausages, Crackers, Herring, Pâtés, Veggies, Boiled Eggs, Rye Bread, Shrimp Salad, Swiss Meringue Dessert Display, Meatballs, Fries w/ Dips, and Little Smokies.
