About the Brew
About the Brewer
This beer was brewed by Opis, Lakefront’s Kitchen Manager. In charge of the week’s food prep, Opis sees to it every curd breaded, batter seasoned, roast potted, and cole slawed. He also trains new hires on recipes and equipment, making sure the kitchen workforce is well seasoned, too.
A lot of work goes into that made-from-scratch flavor diners expect at the Beer Hall, so when Opis clocks out, he finds his center in music, both listening and production. From Chopin’s études to lofi beats to relax/study to, Opis takes in all he hears, and channels that into an opus all his own.
About the Beer
Opis wasn’t much of a beer drinker before working at Lakefront. He’s since come around¬ to enjoy the nuanced flavors of European amber lagers. Of course, he has his own take on what makes a good one: toasted malts in perfect harmony with German hops, and an easy-drinking, clean finish.
The subtle bake on Vienna malt kernels serves as the backbone to Vienna Lager. Expect this one to pour up a clear amber hue with a lingering off-white head. Vienna malt contributes honey and bread crust flavor, with Munich malt adding a more robust nutty toastiness, all balanced out by German Saphir hops.
