This soft, heathered blue tee is brightened by a print depicting the iconic lanterns that hang in our beloved Beer Hall.
Our owner, Russ has received many compliments for the unique chandeliers inside the Beer Hall. The lights were originally designed for—and hung in—the Plankinton Hotel’s beer hall in 1916. Unfortunately, the hotel broke ground on the same day World War I started. Shortly thereafter, prohibition started, and the room was never used as a beer hall. The lights hung in the hotel restaurant until 1982 when the building was demolished. The city removed the lights and stored them in a warehouse—along with other Milwaukee artifacts—until an online auction was held to sell everything. With the opening bid at $5,000, Russ and his brother Jim bid $5,013, but were quickly out-bid by an antique dealer from Chicago offering $10,000. However, the City wanted the lights kept in Milwaukee, and agreed to sell them to the brothers for their price. Jim and Russ are very proud of the lights’ heritage and beauty, and spent over $1,000 restoring each light.

Join Lakefront Brewery in showing support for Milwaukee’s LGBTQ+ community with our MKE Pride Tee. Funds from the sale of each shirt will support the Milwaukee LGBT Community Center, whose mission is “to further develop our vibrant lesbian, gay, bisexual, and transgender community in the greater Milwaukee area, thus improving the quality of life for all of us.”
The design incorporates the Progress Pride Flag into our iconic Lakefront Brewery shield logo. The Progress Pride Flag aims to place a greater emphasis on inclusion and progression by adding elements of the Transgender Flag and the Philadelphia Pride Flag to the traditional 6 colors representing the LGBT community. Pink, blue and white stripes represent those who are transgender, gender non-conforming, agender, genderfluid or nonbinary; black and brown stripes further represent queer and transgender people of color. Lakefront Brewery maintains a safe, inclusive space open to all of our community members and we proudly fly this shield.
